MoTrPAC
Contribuyo al análisis de datos clínicos y multiómicos de distintos tejidos, modalidades de ejercicio y especies para identificar mecanismos y biomarcadores de la respuesta al ejercicio.
Mi trabajo abarca la multiómica de MoTrPAC, el alto rendimiento deportivo, CPET, ECG, la investigación clínica del ejercicio y agentes y aplicaciones de IA. En estos proyectos uso fisiología, biomecánica, datos moleculares y software para estudiar cómo responden las personas al ejercicio.
En Stanford y con colaboradores externos, trabajo en seis áreas conectadas. En todas utilizo el ejercicio para estudiar la salud, la adaptación o el rendimiento.
Contribuyo al análisis de datos clínicos y multiómicos de distintos tejidos, modalidades de ejercicio y especies para identificar mecanismos y biomarcadores de la respuesta al ejercicio.
Aplico fisiología del ejercicio, biomecánica y pruebas de rendimiento al monitoreo de atletas y al estudio del entrenamiento, incluidas colaboraciones con Stanford Baseball y equipos externos de ciencias del deporte.
Mi trabajo con CPET incluye control de calidad, determinación de umbrales, interpretación fisiológica y herramientas de investigación para entornos clínicos y de rendimiento.
Analizo grandes conjuntos de ECG digitales de atletas para estudiar patrones de repolarización y fortalecer la evidencia utilizada en la evaluación y la interpretación.
Mis colaboraciones clínicas abarcan enfermedades neuromusculares y movilidad limitada, insuficiencia cardiaca crónica y otras preguntas sobre capacidad funcional y recuperación. También estudio la fisiología vascular relacionada con el riesgo de accidente cerebrovascular.
Desarrollo agentes y aplicaciones para análisis de datos, revisión de literatura, docencia y flujos de investigación, y colaboro en trabajos sobre evaluación por visión artificial e intervenciones de actividad física guiadas por modelos de lenguaje.
Desarrollo agentes y aplicaciones para necesidades concretas de mi investigación y docencia: revisar evidencia, analizar el movimiento y la fisiología, organizar datos y prepararse para exámenes de certificación.

¿Cómo podemos ir más allá de una recomendación de ejercicio basada en promedios y elegir una intervención adecuada para cada persona?
Recopilar pruebas clínicas, datos de movimiento, datos de dispositivos portátiles, registros de alimentación y perfiles moleculares.
Estudiar cómo cambian estas mediciones entre tejidos, momentos y tipos de ejercicio.
Usar esas diferencias para desarrollar estrategias personalizadas que se puedan evaluar.

Soy investigador posdoctoral en Medicina Cardiovascular de Stanford University. También colaboro con el Stanford Bioinformatics Core y la Wu Tsai Human Performance Alliance.
En MoTrPAC, un consorcio financiado por los NIH, analizo datos clínicos y moleculares de varios tejidos, modalidades de ejercicio y especies. Mi trabajo también incluye alto rendimiento deportivo, CPET, cardiología deportiva y ECG, enfermedades neuromusculares, fisiología vascular relacionada con el riesgo de accidente cerebrovascular y herramientas de investigación con IA.
La mentoría inclusiva forma parte de mi trabajo como científico mexicoamericano de primera generación con raíces indígenas. También desarrollo herramientas prácticas para que la ciencia rigurosa del ejercicio sea más fácil de aprender y utilizar.
